tbone aviation headset in regional jets/turboprops

We shipped off the first tbone aviationTM headset in late April 2009 and since then we are proud to say that the reports and feedback we get from our customers all over the Globe has been absolutely amazing.

We get a lot of positive remarks related to the design and comfort and also many flattering emails about our service and professionalism.

But ....

We have noticed that the tbone aviationTM headset does not perform to our expectation in smaller regional jets and turboprops. There are a few reasons for this.

First and mainly the Hot Intercom combined with the high amount of cockpit noise. The tbone aviationTM headset is not designed to eliminate all noises, only to reduce them to an acceptable, safe and comfortable level. We do not want our customers to sit in a completely silent cocoon. We want our users to be able to actually hear everything that goes on in the cockpit - to make sure their situational awareness is not compromised at any time.

The drawback to this design is that a small amount of cockpit noise is picked up by the tbone microphone and is being fed to the intercom.

The guy sitting in the other seat with an expensive ANR headset will now suddenly be able to hear the cockpit noise that he has paid good money NOT to hear. And he is not always happy with that.

So if you are piloting one of these aircraft types, please check in with us at sales@tboneaviation.com before ordering.

Sincerely,

Jan Thostrup, CEO
